It's been a big week on the recruiting trail for NC State, and it just got bigger. Four-star quarterback Mike Glennon from Westfield High in Centreville, Va., has committed to NC State.
"I just knew ever since last Tuesday when I camped there I wanted to go there," Glennon said. "I felt like it was a better fit for me and felt really comfortable there."
Glennon had to wait until the camps were over before learning he had an offer. He got the call last night from NC State coaches that he had indeed received one.
"Last night I talked with my family and then today I talked to my coach and they all told me to go for it," Glennon said. "So I called Coach [Tom] O'Brien and told him.
"Coach O'Brien, since he is a man of few words, I think he was definitely excited on the inside. They said a big part of their recruiting was getting a quarterback and I was their guy."
Glennon added that he would try to help the Pack recruit some more big-time talents. He has already established a relationship with wide receiver commitment T.J. Graham from Wakefield High in Raleigh. He hopes to help State add offensive linemen and another receiver.
Rivals.com rates Glennon as a four-star recruit, and the 6-foot-6, 194-pounder has earned an exclusive invite to the Elite 11 camp. As a junior he threw for 1,800 yards and 18 touchdowns.
He picked NC State over offers from Florida State, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia and Virginia Tech among others.

I thought for 100% sure that Mr. Glennon, as dyed in the wool VT as he is, wouldn't let Mike go anywhere but to the Hokies. Looks like Mike either stood up to the old man or they're upset w/how Sean's been developed at VT.
